Travel And Accomodation: M’era Luna
If you are looking for some easy travel options, we have defined the possible routes properly for you. M’era Luna will be taking place on the grounds of Flugplatz Hildesheim-Drispenstedt, a former British army airfield in Hildesheim, Germany. Below is your Travel and Accommodation guide.
1) By Air
The closest airport to Hildesheim is Hannover-Langenhagen Airport (53 Kms. away from Hildesheim). The best part is, it’s a domestic as well as an international airport. From there you can travel to the Hildeseim Central Railway station using Hannover Flughafen railway station and from there on, you can choose any of the options mentioned in the list below.
2) By Train
From the Hildesheim Central Railway Station, its takes only 30 minutes to the festival grounds using bus service (route 17). Your cheap and comfortable travel option for the festival is buying the Niedersachsen-Ticket (Valid for one day in all local trains in Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg) or the Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket (Valid Saturday or Sunday from midnight until 3 a.m. on the following day in all local trains throughout the country).
3) By car / motorbike / camper van
From Hamburg, Bremen and Hanover: via the A7 towards Kassel / exit Hildesheim Drispenstedt towards Flugplatz. From Kassel, Frankfurt: via the A7 towards Hannover / exit Hildesheim Drispenstedt towards Flugplatz.
4) By Shuttle
The Hildesheim municipal transport utility will arrange a special bus service on the festival weekend from Hildesheim Railway Station to the festival grounds. The SVHI provides a special route E17 between Central Station and the airfield. The buses already start shuttling from midday on Friday.
Camping space is provided on the festival grounds, though you will have to comply to a lots of rules and regulations such as having a camper sticker on your Camper Van if you plan to drive in one, no open-fire, etc. You can read all the rules and regulations here. If you pay for the service of mein-zelt-steht-schon, you wont have to worry about pitching your tent or carrying your camping equipment.
