When do the gates open for Voodoo Festival?

Festival gates open at 12 pm each day. The Voodoo Experience takes place in New Orleans’ City Park on the Festival Grounds. A good landmark is the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA).

What are the things allowed and prohibited at Voodoo Festival?

Guests and their belongings are subject to search upon entry or re-entry. You can help keep the lines moving quickly by leaving large bags at home.

The following items are ALLOWED:

  • Backpacks (Standard school sized. No frames or camping gear)
  • Binoculars
  • Blankets, Sheets, Towels
  • Cameras – only nonprofessional photos and video cameras will be allowed and must be without equipment attachments such as selfie sticks, tripods, and monopods
  • EMPTY CamelBak water bottles and hydration packs, and plastic or aluminium water bottles
  • Medication – Please note:
    • All OTC medicines/pills must be in the original still-factory-sealed package. Previously opened medicines will be disregarded.
    • All prescription containers must be accompanied by matching ID. Pills should not be mixed in a container. Please bring only an appropriate number of pills for your time at the Festival.
  • Soft-frame chairs
  • Flags
  • Totems
  • Water – you may bring one factory-sealed bottle of water and refill it throughout the day at our free water filling stations

The following items are PROHIBITED:

  • Weapons or explosives of any kind
  • Fireworks
  • Illegal and Illicit substances of any kind. Please note:
    • All OTC medicines/pills must be in the original still-factory-sealed package. Previously opened medicines will be disregarded.
    • All prescription containers must be accompanied by matching ID. Pills should not be mixed in the container. Please bring only an appropriate number of pills for your time at the Festival.
  • Outside food or beverage (including alcohol) of any kind, except for 1 factory sealed bottle of water (up to 1 litre)
  • Any and all professional audio recording equipment
  • Any and all professional video equipment. No video recording will be allowed
  • Professional cameras and professional recording (photo, video, audio) equipment (NO large professional detachable zoom lenses, stands, monopods, tripods, attachment sticks (selfie sticks) or other commercial equipment.
  • Cameras with detachable lenses
  • Drones or any other remote flying device
  • Large chains or spiked jewellery
  • Aerosol containers, including sunscreen and personal beauty products
  • Umbrellas
  • Coolers of any kind. (Exceptions may be made for medical use)
  • Framed backpacks
  • Hammocks
  • Glass and metal containers of any kind
  • Pets (except service animals)
  • Professional radios or walkie-talkies
  • Selfie sticks
  • Skateboards, scooters, bicycles, waggons, carts or any personal motorised vehicles
  • Tents, canopies, or shade structures of any kind
  • Unauthorised/unlicensed vendors are not allowed. No unauthorised solicitation and materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, giveaways, samples, etc.
  • Bicycles inside festival grounds (free parking is available near festival entrance)

 

Can I re-enter the festival once I get out?

3-Day Ticketholders are allowed to enter and exit the Festival as many times as needed. You must be scanned upon exit at the gate in order to re-enter that same day. There is no re-entry for 1-Day Ticketholders.

What is the age limit for Voodoo festival?

Voodoo is all ages. Children aged 10 and under get in free with a ticketed adult.

Does Voodoo have arrangements for medical safety on the site?

Yes, they have made every effort to create a safe and secure environment on the Festival grounds. On-site security and emergency medical staff will be available on site. If you need assistance, go to one of the three medical tents, or look for a security or Festival staff member.
